Delicious. No garden is complete without Turnip greens. Seven Top does not grow a turnip root - it puts all of its energy into growing the best turnip greens you have ever tasted. It's not a commonly growing vegetable, but it should be. There are not many greens more nutritious and tasty when steamed, stir-fried, or used in salads. Seeds can also be used for sprouts. Growing turnip greens in your home garden is an excellent way to widen the variety of fresh leafy greens in your diet. Along with other root vegetables--carrots, parsnips, rutabagas and beets--turnips are among the easiest home garden edibles to grow. This makes them a superb project for first time vegetable growers. Turnips grow quickly. You'll have greens in two to four weeks, and roots ready for harvesting just six to ten weeks after that. Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm or started in containers and transplanted when several inches tall.
